This town was originally built by Meenas. Later it was ruled by King Man Singh I. The Fort was build during December 1550 to July 1614. It is one of the finest forts in Rajasthan. It is highly decorated with paintings and ornaments. Jantar Mantar is the Second UNESCO World heritage site in Jaipur. An astronomical site that is still working very well. Jantar Mantar was built by the Rajput King named Sawai Jai Singh and is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments. It is situated next to the city palace and the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal :

Hawa Mahal was also known as the Wind Palace. It is like a signature monument of Jaipur. Hawa Mahal was built by king Swai Pratap Singha in 1799 with the help of red sand and pink sandstone. It was a high raised wall with so many small windows for ladies of the royal family to see outside on the road for festivals and celebration but nobody could see them back.   • Sadly, I didn't have time to go to Jaipur while I was in India. The City Palace looks like a wedding cake - so pretty! I didn't know those were astronomical instruments at Jantar Mantar - very interesting.
