Are you fed up with all overcrowded hill stations like Shimla, Manali, Mussoorie, Dharamshala, MacLeod ganj and Nainital? You must be because as per my idea we travel to the mountains in search of peace so that we can connect with nature and enjoy some time with our self. Which can help us to escape from hustle and bustle of our everyday life. Nowadays when we travel to all these popular hill stations we find that all the places are overcrowded and mass tourism has spoiled the destinations and nature as well.
I have been to all these popular destinations and found myself unsatisfied with the places. There are traffic jams for hours, especially in season time. You will not get hotels to stay and prices will be sky-high. You forget about peace and nature. People who only travel to make their list long might not mind these problems but the people like me or any other who loves nature to spend some quality time will not like this at all.
After exploring all these destinations I got a chance to visit Mukteshwar. I was so overwhelmed by the destination and really feel connected with nature. Mukteshwar is like a hidden gem in Uttarakhand near to Nainital and Ranikhet. It is still away from mass tourism that’s why to give you a real feel of mountains and nature. Mukteshwar gives you some amazing view of snow-covered Himalaya when you drive toward it from Kathgodam. Let’s explore Mukteshwar with me in this post which will help you to understand the place better.
How to reach: Mukteshwar is a small town in Uttarakhand near very popular Nainital. It is 35km away from Nainital and very well connected by road. If we talk about distance from Delhi it is approx 331km and well connected by road and train. From Delhi, you can have a train to Kathgodam which is the nearest train station for Mukteshwar and 65km away. You can also have direct buses from Delhi to Haldwani and Kathgodam from there you can have a taxi or local bus to Mukteshwar. While traveling to Mukteshwar from Kathgodam you will find two routes one is via Nainital and second is via Bhimtal. I advise you to take both routes while going and coming back so that you can experience Nainital and Bhimtal as well which comes on the way.

One more good option is ‘Club Ten Pine Lodge‘.
